Why do old people have to make me feel bad for calling for someone who has passed away?

Ah, I love this. I have fortunately not had to deal with anything like this at my job, we were trained not to ask for a specific person to avoid this kind of thing. However whenever I do get an old person, I have to repeat myself so much for them to understand seemingly the most simple of statements. At times, I am unsure if they truly do not understand, or if they are just messing with me.

Aah, I can identify with you there, also. I also have to speak up most of the time, causing me to talk embarrassingly loud.
So, I'm guessing you have a similar phone-based job, then?

Telemarketting, unfortunately, and my first job. I'd much prefer an in-bound call center to an out-bound to be honest, but oh well...after two straight weeks of job-searching, I was just glad somebody was actually hiring, hehe.

At least you have a job with old people. They're much easier to deal with then kids entering first grade. At the place I work at, we're teaching them archery as a summer activity. Can you believe that?!

Sorry about that, though. That's a very unpleasant quirk for your job.

actually, the old people I get are the hardest to deal with. They NEVER understand what the questions mean and I have to repeat myself over and over and over...
